Tottenham Hotspur have some big decisions to make ahead of tonight’s match.

According to a report from the London Evening Standard, Tottenham Hotspur defender Kevin Wimmer is seeking clarity about his situation at the club, and being overlooked for the club’s Champions League clash against Bayer Leverkusen this evening could send the wrong message to the player.
Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino has already hinted that Eric Dier could be the man to step in with Toby Alderweireld out injured. However the Standard claims that if the Austrian is not selected in place of the Belgian it could increase the frustration that is already beginning to fester in the the 24-year-old.

Wimmer proved last season that he is ready for regular first-team football at Spurs, replacing Jan Vertonghen and excelling from the outset.
As a result he was expected to kick on this year, but he has been overlooked for match-day squads time and again and an EFL Cup run-out against Gillingham is as good as it has got so far.

That could still change, but the more Wimmer’s frustration grows, the more he could be questioning his decision to sign a new long-term contract at Tottenham after his initial breakthrough.
