Rangers were given a big boost earlier this week when Glen Kamara put pen to paper on a new contract at Ibrox.

The Finland international was only contracted to the Gers until the summer of 2023 prior to his extension.

But now Rangers have the added security of another two years but according to one report, it might not mean that Steven Gerrard and Ross Wilson keep hold of him any longer.

The Athletic has reported that Kamara has struck a ‘compromise’ with the Ibrox club’s hierarchy and that when a ‘suitable offer’ comes in, he will be allowed to leave.

The 25-year-old was linked with a move to the Premier League this past summer and based on this report, the former Arsenal midfielder is keen to return to England.

Huge profit

If and when he does get a big move down South, Rangers stand to make a monstrous profit.

That’s because the light Blues signed Kamara for a ridiculous £50,000 in 2019.

Even if he fetches at least £5 million, which he surely will by virtue of this new contract, that would mean the Scottish Premiership champions sold him for 100 times the amount that they originally paid.

And that, for anyone’s money, is an unbelievable piece of business.

Gerrard, who has described him as a ‘class act‘, would be sad to see him go, such is his quality, but business-wise selling him does make sense if the money is right.
