According to Football.London, Arsenal defender William Saliba turned down a move to Everton in favour of the Gunners.
It’s claimed that Everton made a move for Saliba in the summer of 2019, but Saliba rejected them – along with Atletico Madrid, Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur – in favour of Arsenal.
Saliba may just regret that decision at the moment. He was signed for £28million and then loaned back to Saint-Etienne to play first-team football.
It seemed that the Frenchman would be bedded into the Arsenal squad this season, but he has been left out in the cold by boss Mikel Arteta.
Saliba may have been able to break through with Everton, as they have ended up signing a young centre back in Ben Godfrey having missed out on Saliba a year earlier.
This current situation simply isn’t good enough for Saliba, and few would blame the youngster for feeling his dream move to Arsenal was actually a nightmare mistake.

It now seems that Saliba will be loaned out again in January given that he isn’t playing first-team football with Arsenal, and this report states that PSV Eindhoven have made an enquiry into signing him.
Teams in Germany, Italy and Spain are also keen, and around 18 months after choosing Arsenal over Everton, it seems that he will be spending the first half of 2021 away from North London.
