Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino is a long standing admirer of the Crystal Palace winger.
According to The Sun, Wilfried Zaha wanted a move to Tottenham Hotspur last summer.
Tottenham have been long-term admirers of the Crystal Palace winger, who Mauricio Pochettino is thought to rate.
And, although Tottenham are no longer in the race for Zaha, they did have a chance to sign him last term.
Spurs had wanted Zaha last summer, and the Palace wide-man is said to have been keen to move to White Hart Lane.
However, Daniel Levy could not finance a deal at that time, and Spurs missed their chance to snap up the Palace forward, who is valued at £80 million (TalkSPORT).
That should be considered a blow to Tottenham, as Zaha could have been a great addition to their squad.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side are still looking to add another versatile attacker, who could play out wide or up-front, and they have failed to bring in that sort of player so far this summer.
If Zaha had arrived at Tottenham, he would have offered them more skill in advanced areas, and his threat could have stretched the game for them.
With Spurs’s squad being caught short at times last term, Zaha could have been the perfect addition for Pochettino.
However, it seems that Everton are now the leading candidates to sign Zaha (The Sun), with Spurs focusing on other, younger targets now.
