Wigan Athletic are reportedly hoping to pay the six-figure fee for Nottingham Forest’s Danny Fox.

According to a report from The Sun (23/1; page 51), Wigan are hoping to pay £200,000 to complete a deal for Danny Fox, and the Nottingham Forest defender is happy to leave provided that he is offered a long-term contract by the Latics.
The 32-year-old has made 18 Championship appearances for Forest this term, but Martin O’Neill’s arrival at the City Ground appears to have left a question mark lingering over his future with the club.
Wigan are reportedly keen to sign the defender as they look to keep themselves out of the bottom three in the Championship. And it appears that they want the deal done as soon as possible.
The Sun (23/1; page 51) reports Paul Cook is hoping to seal a £200,000 move by the time he takes his side to face Forest on Saturday. The report adds that Fox is open to the move as long as a lengthy contract is put on the table.

The former Southampton man has seemingly attracted criticism from some of the Forest fans in recent weeks due to his form, so there may well be some who will not be disappointed if he does leave.
And if Wigan get their way, perhaps Fox’s last act as a Forest player will prove to be picking up the second yellow card that saw him sent off in the 2-0 defeat at Reading earlier this month.
