According to The Herald, Wigan Athletic are willing to accept a cut-price deal for goalkeeper David Marshall amid interest from Celtic.
The Latics went into administration on Wednesday, and that may mean that they have to offload players for bargain prices.
Marshall is once such player. The 35-year-old is in great form, keeping seven clean sheets in a row for Wigan – and that has sparked interest from Celtic.
It’s claimed that Marshall is keen on a return to Glasgow. His family still live there, and Marshall has been commuting south whilst playing for Wigan.
Marshall would be interested in returning to Glasgow full-time with Celtic, and Neil Lennon – who played alongside Marshall for the Bhoys – is keen on a reunion.
Celtic seem to have missed out on Fraser Forster, and Marshall is emerging as a top target for Celtic are they line up a new goalkeeper.
The Scotland international is a proven goalkeeper who provides great experience and a veteran presence, which Celtic will need without Forster or Craig Gordon.
