Southampton striker Sam Gallagher is reportedly attracting plenty of attention in the Championship.

According to a report from The Sun on Sunday (7/7; page 61), Wigan have bid £5 million for Southampton striker Sam Gallagher, who is keen to return to Blackburn Rovers this summer.
Despite enduring a frustrating campaign in which he only made a handful of appearances for the Saints, Gallagher is attracting a lot of attention this summer, with Brentford joining the Latics and Tony Mowbray’s men in the running for his signature.
However, The Sun on Sunday (7/7; page 61) reports that Wigan have looked to steal a march on their rivals by making an offer for the 23-year-old, with Blackburn and the Bees both reportedly needing to sell to fund a move.
The report adds however, that Gallagher’s preference would be to return to Ewood Park following a previous loan spell with Rovers, during which he scored 11 league goals.

Blackburn may need to act quickly if they want the striker as it would arguably not be a huge surprise if Southampton were willing to accept Wigan’s £5 million bid.
As talented as the forward is, he is likely to struggle for game-time with Ralph Hasenhuttl’s men if he sticks around next season, especially with Che Adams arriving at St Mary’s off the back of an outstanding season in the Championship.
