Wigan are now favourites to sign Antonee Robinson from Everton despite Bolton’s of re-signing the defender.

Wigan Athletic now look like the most likely destination for Antonee Robinson, reports the Liverpool Echo, following Everton’s signing of Lucas Digne.
Robinson spent last season on loan at Bolton Wanderers and they had hoped to bring the defender back for 2018/19, but the Latics have moved ahead in the race for his signature.
The 20-year-old has been deemed surplus to requirements at Goodison Park after the Toffees confirmed the £18m capture of Digne from Barcelona yesterday (August 1).
Robinson is likely to be signed on a loan deal in order to get first team football and further his development, but while still having a long-term future on Merseyside.

The United States international played 34 matches for Bolton in 2017/18 to help them avoid relegation from the Championship.
Wigan are also interested in another Everton defender, Matthew Pennington, who himself was a loanee in the second tier of English football last term at Leeds United.
