Tottenham Hotspur chief Steve Hitchen was apparently told off by a Newcastle steward yesterday, Football London report.
Hitchen in trouble
Hitchen’s passionate displays on the touchline have drawn the attention of Tottenham supporters this season.
And even in a red-hot atmosphere at St. James’ Park yesterday, the Spurs transfer director could still be heard.
Hitchen was apparently aggrieved after Emerson Royal was fouled by a Newcastle player.
His ranting was heard by a Magpies fan, who gave Hitchen a verbal volley back.
And the pair reportedly had to be told to settle down by a steward in the Newcastle end.
Spurs impress
Hitchen would, at least, have the last laugh over the nearby Newcastle fans.
Tottenham ran out 3-2 winners in the contest, and looked good value for their victory.
Spurs were a constant threat to the Newcastle defence, as they claimed the three points and moved up to fifth in the Premier League table.
