The Telegraph (Transfer Live blog, 10:45am, January 31, 2022) have reported that Alexander Isak does not expect Real Sociedad to sell him to Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal unless the Gunners pay his buyout clause of £76 million.
The report has claimed that Sociedad striker Isak was in London over the weekend to shop at Selfridges and not sign for Arsenal or any other club.
The 22-year-old Sweden international striker was in London along with his Sociedad teammate and former Manchester United player Adnan Januzaj.
Arsenal are reportedly interested in signing Isak, but the Gunners will have to pay his full buyout clause of £76 million.
Could Alexander Isak to Arsenal happen today?
In our view, it does look unlikely that Isak will be an Arsenal player after the January transfer window has closed tonight.
The Gunners are unlikely to pay £76 million for a 22-year-old on the final day of the window.

Having said that, we should remember that Arsenal did trigger Thomas Partey’s release clause of £45 million on the final day of the 2020 summer transfer window.
So, anything is possible.
However, with Isak having gone back to Spain now, it does appear that Arsenal will have to wait until the summer of 2022 to open talks with Sociedad.
