It has been reported that Villa manager Dean Smith is keen on Chelsea midfielders Loftus-Cheek and Barkley.
However, according to the report, Loftus-Cheek is more likely to leave the Blues than his England international teammate Barkley before the summer transfer window closes next month.
Villa want to sign both the players on loan from Chelsea, but the Villans can only secure the services of one of them on a temporary deal due to Premier League rules.
Stats
According to WhoScored, Loftus-Cheek has played 61 minutes in the Premier League for Chelsea so far this season, while in 2019-20, the 24-year-old midfielder made two starts and five substitute appearances in the league.
Barkley has played 40 minutes in the league for Frank Lampard’s side so far this campaign, while last season, the 26-year-old made 13 starts and eight substitute appearances in the league and played 161 minutes in the Champions League, according to WhoScored.
While Chelsea are challenging for the Premier League title this season, Villa will be aiming to avoid another relegation battle.
