According to The Telegraph, American entrepreneur Henry Mauriss is ready to make a formal bid to buy Newcastle United.

It has been reported that the media magnate is ready to step in if Saudi Arabia’s Pubic Investment Fund (PIF) are unable to complete the purchase of Newcastle from current owner Mike Ashley.

While everything has been agreed between PIF and Ashley, the Premier League have still not made a decision on the proposed takeover, according to the report.

The Telegraph has claimed that should the Premier League decide to reject the takeover bid from PIF, then Mauriss, the CEO of Clear TV Media, will make a bid, as he has a team in place to get the deal done.

Sale of Newcastle United inevitable?

It does seem inevitable that Newcastle will be sold this summer, either to PIF or to Mauriss.

Newcastle fans can do nothing much now except be positive, and hope that the takeover saga does come to an end soon.

It would be really helpful for the Magpies if a decision is reached before the end of the season so that the prospective new owners of the club can plan ahead for the 2020-21 campaign and invest money in the squad by signing players in the summer transfer window.
