Tottenham Hotspur assistant manager Joao Sacramento was displeased when Arsenal were awarded what turned out to be a crucial penalty in the North London derby, Football London reporter Chris Wheatley has reported.
Arsenal were given a spot kick when Tottenham’s Davinson Sanchez was deemed to have brought down Alexandre Lacazette.
Jose Mourinho was clearly fuming with the decision after the game, as he made a point of mentioning it regularly in his post match interview.
And it seems that Tottenham’s bench were quick to appeal against the awarding of the penalty even at the time.
Spurs assistant Sacramento apparently was overheard saying ‘no penalty’ towards Arsenal’s bench.
However, Mikel Arteta was quick to retort, saying: “It’s a clear penalty. I’ve seen it.”

The penalty award certainly was controversial, but ultimately it was tough to argue that Arsenal didn’t deserve the victory.
Tottenham set-up surprisingly defensively in the contest, and it wasn’t until the were reduced to 10 men that they really showed their attacking intent.
