The former Chelsea manager is back in Italy on a short break during the internationals.
Conte left England after an extraordinary rant last weekend following Tottenham’s failure to win against Southampton in the Premier League.
The Times have reported that Tottenham are considering sacking Conte and have the recently dismissed Bayern Munich boss Julian Nagelsmann as a potential replacement for the Italian.
HITC Verdict: Exit likely
In our view, if Tottenham Hotspur and Antonio Conte are in talks over a compensation fee, then it is likely that the Italian boss will leave soon.
With Spurs already looking at potential replacements, we do not see how Conte will stay on as the Tottenham boss.
Conte is out of contract at Spurs at the end of the season anyway.
The only risk is that whoever comes in now will have to get Tottenham into the Premier League top four.
Yes, Spurs are in a very good position in the league table, but they have not been very consistent at all this season.
