Liverpool won’t necessarily be selling Georginio Wijnaldum this summer, even though Thiago Alcantara is expected to arrive, the Telegraph claim they have been told.
Liverpool are now expected to bring in Thiago in the near future, after agreeing a £27 million fee for the Spanish midfielder.
There has been suggestions that Thiago would only join Liverpool if Wijnaldum leaves all summer.
However, the Telegraph insist that isn’t the case – and the two deals are very much separate.
Wijnaldum has been linked with a switch to Barcelona, but Jurgen Klopp’s side could well still keep him around to add to their midfield numbers.
If Liverpool are to keep Wijnaldum and add Thiago then they will have an enviable collection of midfielders to pick from.

As well as the aforementioned duo, they will also have the likes of Fabinho, Jordan Henderson and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain who can play in the centre of the pitch.
Thiago’s arrival should really help to increase the creativity available to the Reds, and his signature will greatly enhance Liverpool’s chances of retaining the Premier League title this season.
