It has been reported that Newcastle owner Mike Ashley has not held discussions with staff about the proposed takeover of the club.
Manager Bruce has been told to work as normal despite speculation on his future and other managers being linked with his role at St. James’ Park, according to the report.
According to Sky Sports, the prospective new owners of Newcastle are looking to appoint Mauricio Pochettino as their manager from next season.
However, according to the report, if Pochettino cannot be convinced to move to St. James’ Park, then former Magpies’ boss Rafael Benitez will be approached.

Bruce was appointed as the Newcastle manager last summer, and he has done a pretty good job at St. James’ Park.
The Magpies are unlikely to get relegated to the Championship – if and when the season resumes – and are still in the FA Cup.
The prospective new owners should at least give Bruce a chance and hold talks with him regarding how he could move the team forward if he is given a good sum of money to spend in the summer transfer window.
According to The Times, if the takeover goes through, then Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF) will own 80% of Newcastle, Amanda Staveley and her husband Mehrdad Ghodoussi will have a 10% share in the club, and the Reuben brothers – Simon and David – will have a 10% stake as well.
