Tottenham Hotspur players feel that they aren’t working as hard under Jose Mourinho as they were with Mauricio Pochettino in charge, and some have not enjoyed the change, the Athletic report.

Mourinho has claimed this week that his coaching methods are second to none, but the latest update about his training sessions does not make encouraging reading for the Portuguese boss.

The Athletic says that Tottenham’s players feel that Pochettino’s training sessions were far more intense and more attack minded.

Mourinho’s, on the other hand, are often designed around how to stop the opposition – rather than their own strengths.

It is claimed that Mourinho still has some support in Tottenham’s dressing room, but many feel that his methods aren’t suiting them, with a number of Tottenham’s attacking players still calling upon patterns of play they learned under Pochettino.

The report will do little for Mourinho’s rapidly decreasing popularity among Tottenham’s fan base.

The Lilywhites have been in an awful fun of form of late, and have now lost five of their last six games.

Mourinho does seem to have encouraged Spurs to play on the front foot slightly more of late, but they have been unable to pick up many positive results.

And with Tottenham struggling in ninth place the pressure really is on Mourinho to improve their form, with many supporters calling for him to go now.
