Sources close to Newcastle United’s potential new Singaporean owners are confident that they will pass the Premier League’s owners’ and directors’ test easily, according to the Chronicle.

In what has been one of the longest takeover sagas in English football history, Newcastle now appear to be close to being bought out be another set of new owners.

This time the Magpies are the subject of interest from a Singaporean group, who are believed to have exciting plans for the club.

The Bellagraph Nova Group are said to be wanting to improve Newcastle’s squad by injecting big money into the team, but they also are aiming to develop the local areas.

Those plans sound similar to PIF’s, who tried to buy Newcastle earlier this summer.

PIF’s deal fell down as the Premier League were reluctant to give them the green light as owners, but the latest potential buyers are expecting not to have any issues in that regard, if they sit the test.

The latest news is certainly exciting for Newcastle fans, but optimism around St. James’ Park is only likely to be cautious, as Magpies supporters have seen so many potential takeover deals fall through in the past now.
