Crystal Palace’s staff were shocked by how well West Ham United played against them in a warm-up match, according to the Daily Mail.
West Ham beat Palace 2-1 in a friendly which took place in the middle of the month.
David Moyes’s side looked sharper and fitter than Palace, with the Eagles staff said to be shocked by how good the Hammers were. The Mail reports one even told them ‘West Ham were flying’.
However, the Hammers’ performance on the pitch when the Premier League restarted did not show them off in the best light.
West Ham were comfortably dispatched with by Wolves, who went to the London Stadium and won 2-0.
Moyes’s side sat back and defended for much of the match, and they were ultimately punished after goals from Raul Jimenez and Pedro Neto.
West Ham are now in action against Tottenham Hotspur tonight, when the pressure is on them to put in a much improved display.
Moyes’s side are currently in 17th place in the Premier League table, with only goal difference separating them from the relegation zone.
