Newcastle United’s potential new owners have now been contacted AS Roma owner James Palotta, according to the Daily Star.
Newcastle’s takeover has taken longer than expected, and Palotta apparently thought he would test the waters over the current situation.
Palotta is looking for a buyer for Roma, but after contacting Newcastle’s potential owners he reportedly realised that getting them to invest in his side could be difficult.
The American businessman is said to have reached out to Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, but now realises that he is totally set on buying Newcastle.

Palotta is expecting the Magpies takeover to go through sooner rather than later, and that is encouraging news for supporters of the Tyneside club.
Newcastle’s takeover has taken some time to be confirmed, which has raised concerns that it may fail at the final hurdle.
But Palotta is said to be convinced that the takeover will happen.
And Roma will only make contact with Newcastle’s new owners again if the takeover does fall through, which they are not expecting.
