Newcastle United boss Rafael Benitez has been unable to bring in any new players so far this month.

According to the Daily Mirror, Newcastle United boss Rafael Benitez will tell Mike Ashley that he wants two new players at their scheduled transfer meeting.

Ashley does not appear set to sell Newcastle this month, and he is now planning to listen to Benitez over transfers.

Newcastle are yet to make an addition this month, despite the Spaniard consistently stressing that the Magpies need to increase the quality in their squad.

And Benitez remains determined to bring in new players at St. James’ Park, despite a lack of funding so far.

Benitez still wants a number 10 and a left-back at Newcastle, and he plans to make it clear in his meeting with Ashley.

Newcastle are currently just two points above the drop zone, with their next match coming against Watford in the FA Cup.
