Newcastle United are currently in the process of a takeover bid, with Rafael Benitez desperate for additions in January.

Mike Ashley is close to selling Newcastle, but Benitez has reportedly been assured that he will have the freedom to buy new players, regardless of what stage the deal is at.
Benitez is now said to be lining up three new signings, and he feels confident of doing business in the new year.
Newcastle want to add a winger, striker and a full-back, as Benitez looks to inject quality in to his squad.
The Magpies have managed to keep above the relegation zone for much of the season so far, but their weaknesses have been exposed on occasion.

Newcastle are far from being clear of trouble, and currently sit in 15th place in the Premier League table – just three points above the drop zone.
Newcastle are next in action at the weekend, when they take on fellow strugglers Huddersfield Town.
