This week we saw Adam Forshaw return to first-team action for Leeds United for the first time since late 2019.
Well, technically it was the first-team, but the side fielded against Guiseley on Tuesday was largely made up of U23s, but Forshaw was one senior player involved at Nethermoor Park.

Sadly, Forshaw has had a string of injury issues that have kept him out for a couple of years, and while Leeds may have evolved since he last played a league game, it sounds as though Marcelo Bielsa believes he can still have a part to play.
Indeed, according to a report by The Athletic, Bielsa has been singing Forshaw’s praises behind the scenes at Elland Road, reportedly telling people he believes he has the attributes required to play for a Champions League side.
Now, usually, we’d say this is a case of a manager bigging up their player’s ego or perhaps a piece of poor judgement. After all, Forshaw has by-and-large been a Championship player throughout his career.
However, due to how good Bielsa is at judging players, you have to put some added weight to his words, and his analysis of Forshaw may show just how good of a player he is.
Fingers crossed the midfielder can get back fit and firing this season.
