Marca has claimed that Real Madrid will not sell Marcelo, amid reported interest from Leeds United and Everton.

English media’s report

The Mirror has reported that Premier League clubs Leeds and Everton are interested in signing Marcelo from Madrid in the summer transfer window.

The report has claimed that Everton are actually ahead of Leeds in the race for the left-back.

However, Marca are reporting that Madrid have told the 33-year-old Brazilian that he is in their plans.

The four-time Champions League winner wants to honour his contract at the Spanish giants.

Marcelo got in touch with the Madrid directors regarding his future.

The left-back has been told that he will not be sold, and that he has nothing to worry about regarding his future.

Blow for Leeds United and Everton

Now, Marca are a Madrid-based publication and are close to the Spanish club.

Everton and Leeds may want the five-time La Liga champions, but based on this report, it does appear that they will fail in their quest.

Marcelo is 33 and is unlikely to play regularly next season.

However, the veteran left-back is a big figure in the dressing room.

New Madrid head coach Carlo Ancelotti could rely on him in big games, as the Italian plans to win the La Liga and the Champions League next season.
