Harry Kane got quite a few Tottenham Hotspur fans a little worried last month.
Prior to international duty with England, Kane admitted that he would decide his future at the end of the season.
It was hardly a resounding and defiant statement that he would be staying at Spurs beyond the end of the current campaign.
But according to The Sun, he is.
The English publication claims that Tottenham have made it ‘almost impossible’ for the 27-year-old to leave this summer, by refusing to sell to a Premier League rival and with the likes of Barcelona and Real Madrid looking at younger strikers, the red-hot marksman may have nowhere to go.
The report adds that chairman Daniel Levy has told the player that despite his loyalty to the Lilywhites over the past seven years, he won’t be allowed to leave.
But The Sun also claims that Kane himself has accepted this and will not try and force a move away from North London.
He turns 28 in July and it’s possible that he’ll hit that birthday without having won a single trophy at Tottenham.
Jose Mourinho’s side do have a League Cup final against Manchester City later this month, but it remains to be seen if that’s enough to quench Kane’s thirst for silverware – and should they finish outside the top four, the forward may not be so accepting of Levy’s tough stance any longer.
