According to a report by LeedsLive, Jurgen Klopp continuously relayed one message to Alisson as Liverpool were struggling to deal with Leeds’ intensity.

Liverpool and Leeds played out a 1-1 draw on Monday evening, but it’s fair to say that the game was overshadowed by the European Super League plans.

Fortunately, the Super League idea is now seemingly dead in the water, we can get back to talking about football.

The game on Monday didn’t get the coverage it deserved, but a report from LeedsLive has given an interesting insight into what happened during the match, including what Jurgen Klopp was shouting on the sidelines.

The good thing about being able to cover games live in an empty stadium is that you can hear every word said, and one journalist noted that Klopp kept calling Alisson to tell him to slow the game down.

“As early as the 29th minute, Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp was calling to goalkeeper Alisson to slow things down and give his players chance to recover,” the report states.

“After an especially frantic couple of minutes with both teams relentlessly going up and down the pitch, the ball came to the away stopper and Klopp whistled to him.”

This is something of a compliment to Leeds United.

The fact that the ‘heavy metal football’ machine of Liverpool couldn’t even deal with Leeds shows just how unique Marcelo Bielsa’s side are.

One thing is for sure, you’ll rarely see Klopp issue these types of instructions against other teams.
