Leeds Live report that Kalvin Phillips was waiting in the Leeds United tunnel to hug all of his teammates as they beat Norwich City 2-1 – with an injury-time winner from Joe Gelhardt ending a run of six straight losses.
Gelhardt, 19, came off the bench in injury time after Kenny McLean equalised on 91 minutes. Rodrigo had given Leeds the lead in the first half, his curling effort being deflected into the back of Tim Krul’s net.
The young Leeds attacker scored a crucial winner just moments after McLean’s effort – winning a header to set Raphinha free, before Raphinha returned the favour. It handed Gelhardt a tap-in to win, and he obliged.
The report from Leeds Live claims that Phillips, who is back in training and close to a return, was waiting in the Elland Road tunnel to hug his Leeds teammates and congratulate them on beating the Canaries to win 2-1.

Regardless of the performance, of the controversy in the match, Leeds had to come out winners on Sunday and they did. Jesse Marsch’s side got the job done, even if they did ride their luck – and waste some brilliant chances.
Raphinha hit the bar twice, Patrick Bamford was excellent but rusty in front of goal. The result came first, but there were plenty of positives and the performance was there too. But that elusive clean sheet is still out of reach.
