According to Mundo Deportivo, Tottenham Hotspur head coach Jose Mourinho does not think that Philippe Coutinho fits into his system.

France Football reported earlier this month that Tottenham are interested in signing Coutinho from Barcelona in the summer transfer window despite the huge cost involved in the deal.

However, the report in Spanish news outlet Mundo Deportivo seems to suggest that Mourinho does not want the 28-year-old as he would not fit into his system.

No Tottenham Hotspur transfer this summer?

Coutinho is a very good player who can operate as an attacking midfielder or as a winger, and the Brazil international would make the current Tottenham team better going forward.

However, if Mourinho does not think that the former Liverpool star would fit into his system, then it is unlikely that Tottenham will sign him.

After all, there is no point in Spurs chairman Daniel Levy bringing in a player Mourinho does not want.

Meanwhile, Southampton manager Ralph Hasenhuttl has said that there is interest in Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg.

The Daily Star has claimed of interest in Hojbjerg form Tottenham and Everton.

Hasenhuttl said about Hojbjerg to The Daily Star: “As always, I don’t want to speak about any rumours, any possibilities. But you can be sure there are a few clubs around this.

“For sure we know when Pierre is leaving we have to find an alternative and that we have another few positions where we are a little bit struggling. We have to keep our eyes open and be active in those positions for sure.”
