Newcastle United boss Steve Bruce was expecting their takeover to have gone through by now, according to the Daily Express.

Newcastle have seemingly been in the final stages of a takeover bid for weeks now, but the Premier League have still not confirmed the deal.

It has been a worrying time for Newcastle supporters, who are largely desperate to see a change of ownership.

Bruce’s own future could come into sharp focus once Newcastle’s new owners are in place, as they have big ambitions for the future.

The Saudi-investors are thought to want to turn Newcastle into one of the strongest teams in the Premier League and a number of high profile managers have already been linked to the job.

It is now claimed that Bruce was expecting to have heard news over his future by now.

Bruce reportedly thought that Newcastle’s takeover was going to be completed by now, and has been left shocked by the length of time it has taken to go through.

The good news for Newcastle fans is that the takeover is still expected to be confirmed in the near future, even despite these delays.

And Bruce will be waiting patiently to hear news over whether he’ll be kept around next term, after guiding the Magpies into 13th place so far this season.
