Antonio Conte has already told Daniel Levy that he is going to make Tottenham Hotspur’s players fitter after taking charge, the Athletic report.
Fitness the priority
Conte met with Levy and Fabio Paratici yesterday, prior to taking the job at Tottenham.
The Italian boss apparently impressed all of the Spurs board as he spoke about his plans to take the side forward.
Conte is now set to be announced as Spurs manager today, in what looks like a real coup for the club.
One of Conte’s big plans already is to make Tottenham’s players much fitter.
A needed change
Since Mauricio Pochettino departed, Spurs’ players fitness levels seem to have deteriorated.
They have run the least amount of miles of any Premier League side this season – although whether that was down to a lack of physical capabilities or motivation is very much up for debate.

Nuno seemed to fail to inspire Tottenham’s team ever since he arrived, with Spurs going on to score just nine goals in his 10 Premier League games in charge.
Conte comes to Spurs with a glowing track record, though.
And if Tottenham’s players continue to languish under him, then it is unlikely that the manager will have to take the flak.
Conte has previously been ruthless with players who have not shown enough in training, and it seems that Tottenham’s squad are going to have to re-double their efforts at Hotspur Way in the coming weeks.
