A Celtic insider has told the Telegraph that they are ‘no longer confident about getting Fraser Forster back’.
Forster has spent the season on loan at Celtic and seriously impressed, with Neil Lennon now keen to land him on a permanent deal.
However, Southampton apparently want to assess the £10 million man’s (Guardian) quality ahead of next season.
Southampton already have Alex McCarthy and Angus Gunn, but reportedly feel that Forster now deserves a chance to compete for his place.
Celtic could, therefore, have to look elsewhere for a new number one this summer.
The Bhoys are said to be becoming increasingly less confident that doing a deal for Forster will be possible.

That will be a blow to the Scottish champions, as Forster has been so reliable this season.
Forster has played 39 times for Celtic this season, keeping 17 clean sheets.
