According to The Athletic, Arsenal are not willing to include Reiss Nelson or Joe Willock in a deal to sign Emiliano Buendia from Norwich City in the January transfer window.
The Independent recently reported that Arsenal cannot afford to pay the £40 million transfer fee that Norwich are looking for Buendia and could include Nelson or Willock in a part-exchange deal.
However, The Athletic has claimed that although the Gunners are interested in the 24-year-old Argentine attacking midfielder, the North London club are not willing to include 21-year-old winger Nelson or 21-year-old midfielder Willock in any deal.
Sensible stance
Nelson and Willock are very talented and promising young players who could be stars in the Arsenal first team in years to come.
The two 21-year-old players have already shown what they are capable of, and it would make sense for the North London club to keep hold of them.
True, Buendia is a very good player who would help Mikel Arteta’s side with their creativity, but Arsenal need to think long term as well and have to keep hold of their best young players.
