It has been reported that Rangers – as well as the other clubs in the Scottish top flight – have agreed not to object to the Scottish Premiership season being ended now with the Hoops being declared the winners.
The clubs in the Scottish top flight will hold an emergency summit with SPFL chief executive Neil Doncaster in a video conference on Friday afternoon, according to the report.
The Daily Record has quoted a source as saying that an official announcement on the league being called off could be made as early as Friday evening.
However, the source has added that it is more likely that an agreement will be reached today, and that an announcement will be made early next week.
Sensible decision
The Scottish Premiership is suspended at the moment due to the global health crisis, and it could take weeks for it to resume.
With Celtic 13 points clear at the top of the league table at the moment, it would make sense now to call the season and hand the Hoops the title, so that planning can start for the summer transfer window and for next season.
