Celtic have not made a move for Shon Weissman, according to The Scottish Sun.
The Telegraph reported in June that Celtic are looking into the possibility of signing Weissman from Wolfsberger AC in the summer transfer window.
The report stated that the Glasgow giants will consider a move for the 24-year-old forward if they lose Odsonne Edouard this summer.
Wolfsberger president Dietmar Riegler recently claimed that Celtic have made an offer for the Israel international.
Riegler told Kleine Zeitung, as translated by The Scottish Sun: “As you already know, he wants to go to Germany or England.
“But we’ve not yet had any inquiries from there. Offers have come, amongst others, from Russia and Scotland, from Glasgow Celtic.
“Because of the Corona crisis, everything is different this year. The seasons in Germany have now ended.
“The clubs know where they will play in the coming season. I think the next few days will be interesting for Shon.”
However, The Scottish Sun has claimed that a source has told them that Celtic have not made any formal approach for the former Maccabi Haifa forward.
The report has stated that the forward is a player in demand, and that he wants to move to the Premier League or the Bundesliga and could be available for a cut-price fee, as he is out of contract at Wolfsberger at the end of next season.
Stats
According to Transfermarkt.co.uk, Weissman scored 30 goals and provided seven assists in the Austrian Bundesliga for Wolfsberger this past season.
The forward also scored two goals in six Europa League matches for the Australian club this past campaign, according to Transfermarkt.co.uk.
