Andy Robertson is already a firm Liverpool legend.
Since joining the Reds for £8 million back in 2017, the Scotland international has become one of Europe’s best left-backs.
Having won a Champions League and Premier League title at Anfield since, it’s fair to say Liverpool fans adore the former Hull City defender.
But after discovering what he did at Old Trafford on Sunday, that affection will only grow.
Liverpool subjected Manchester United to a horrific 5-0 mauling as Mohamed Salah bagged a hat-trick.
Lord knows there’s been a lot of memorable wins during Jurgen Klopp’s six-year reign at the English giants, but this was right up there as being perhaps the most special, given the opposition.
Before heading down the tunnel at full-time, Klopp and his troops were jeered by a section of the Manchester United fans.
And according to The Echo, the cheeky Scot blew a kiss in their direction in response to the abuse.
The report adds that Trent Alexander-Arnold offered ‘a sarcastic wave’ to the same reception but, if you’re a Liverpool fan, Robertson’s reaction is the winner.
If the performance of Klopp’s troops was a meal at a Michelin-starred restaurant, the Scot’s gesture was the chef’s kiss.
Grounded
Despite the win, Liverpool can’t get carried away.
Yes it was one hell of a flash of their Premier League title credentials, but the Red Devils have been struggling most of the season and already looked like also-rans, as far as coming first goes.
Chelsea and Manchester City are still looking ever so impressive and it’s Klopp’s job to keep his players grounded in spite of this display.
