Western Melbourne will hold talks with Celtic midfielder Scott Brown in the next few days, according to The Scottish Sun.

It has been reported that the ambitious A-League club want to secure the services of Brown for the 2019-20 campaign and are willing to hand him a three-year contract.

Minnesota United and Sporting Kansas City in the USA are also reported to be interested in the former Scotland international midfielder, who is out of contract at Celtic at the end of the season.

Future in Australia?

Brown is a very good midfielder who remains an important player at Celtic, but there have been occasions in recent weeks when the 33-year-old has not been included in the starting lineup despite being fit.

Given his age, it will make sense for Brown to join A-League club Western Melbourne next summer and experience football outside of Scotland.

Brown has been on the books of Celtic since the summer of 2007 when he joined from Hibernian for a transfer fee reported by The Guardian to be worth £4.4 million.
