Palermo have reportedly tried to make a late bid to sign West Ham youngster Sead Haksabanovic.

According to a report from Swedish outlet Expressen, West Ham midfielder Sead Haksabanovic is a loan target for Serie B side Palermo, but the most likely outcome is that the youngster will stay at the London Stadium beyond tonight’s deadline.

The 18-year-old only arrived at the Hammers in the summer – Goal reported at the time that he had cost the Premier League club £2.7 million – but he has not been able to enjoy quite as much game-time as he may have hoped for so far.

Haksabanovic has played for the Irons’ first-team on two occasions this term – once in the Carabao Cup and in the FA Cup defeat to Wigan last weekend – with the teenager predominantly turning out for their youth sides.

Expressen reports that Palermo were interested in bringing him to Italy for the second half of the season, but that a deal, at this stage, looks unlikely, and it is probable that he will still be available to David Moyes after the deadline.

In some ways, seeking a loan move for the Montenegro international may not have been a bad idea given how little he has played in the first-team since his arrival in the Premier League.

But perhaps Moyes may be considering using him slightly more often during the coming months if he does end up deciding to keep him at the club for the rest of the campaign.
