According to The Mirror, West Ham United are open to selling winger Robert Snodgrass this summer, despite only signing him during the January transfer window.

The Hammers lost Dimitri Payet to Marseille in January, but did bring in Snodgrass as something of a replacement given his superb set piece ability.

Scotland international Snodgrass starred in the first half of the season by hitting seven goals and three assists in just 20 games for Hull City, which attracted major interest in January.

The 29-year-old eventually joined West Ham, but couldn’t replicate his Hull form, as he ended the season with no goals and two assists in 15 appearances for the Hammers.

Now, The Mirror report that West Ham are already souring on the winger, and would be open to offers to sell him this summer – though that situation could be complex.

It’s stated that Championship trio Middlesbrough, Sunderland and Sheffield Wednesday are all interested in signing Snodgrass, but the Scot is unwilling to drop back down into the Championship.

Snodgrass will seemingly only leave for another Premier League club, and whilst West Ham think that newly-promoted Brighton and Hove Albion may be a potential suitor, his wages in excess of £50,000-a-week could be prohibitive.

Selling Snodgrass after just a matter of months would be an admission of a mistake from West Ham, but his performances so far suggest that he may not fit into Slaven Bilic’s side, and it may be better for the Hammers to cut their losses now and move on.
