West Ham United’s Premier League starlet Reece Oxford could go to Holland, the Bundesliga or the Championship.
West Ham United have received even more interest for the signature of West Ham United youngster Reece Oxford.
The Mail reported on Sunday that the highly-rated 20-year-old is expected to leave the London Stadium for a fee of around £8 million this month, having fallen well down the pecking order under Manuel Pellegrini.
It is understood that Nottingham Forest are ready to offer Oxford a fresh start while Eintracht Frankfurt, the Bundesliga’s surprise packages, are also interested.
The Hammers’ academy graduate, who has been likened to Rio Ferdinand, has already played in Germany during a loan spell with Borussia Monchengladbach.
But according to Leeuwarder Courant, Eredivisie outfit Heerenveen have also taken great strides to lure Oxford to Holland, a league famed for providing the platform for young players to develop.
Heerenveen’s general manager Gerry Hamstra travelled to England on Friday last week for talks with West Ham.
Nottingham Forest or Frankfurt would represent a far more high profile move, however, especially given the latter are playing in the Europa League this season.
And Oxford could learn a lot from the experienced Forest boss Martin O’Neill, a manager renowned for getting the best out of his defenders and instilling organisation in his sides.
