West Ham United are said to have paid twice that amount to sign Perez from Arsenal less than a year ago.

The West Ham United forward, Lucas Perez, is in talks with Deportivo Alaves over a potential £2 million transfer to the Spanish side, according to The Sun.
Perez has scored six goals in 19 games since joining West Ham in a £4 million deal from Arsenal during last summer’s window (Transfermarkt).
But the newspaper claims the 30-year-old is one of several players the Hammers are looking to lose in an attempt to trim the club’s wage bill.
Marko Arnautovic is also ready to be sold should the club receive a ‘decent’ offer, while Javier Hernandez and Pedro Obiang are both listed for transfer, it adds.

Perez has struggled to replicate the form he showed in his final season at Deportivo La Coruna, which led to a £17 million transfer to Arsenal.
The Galician still has two years left on his West Ham contract.
Is £2 million a fair price for the West Ham forward?
