West Ham are reportedly set to sign Lucas Perez from Arsenal.

Arsenal unveil new signing Lucas Perez at London Colney on August 28, 2016 in St Albans, England.

According to The Mirror, West Ham United’s deal for Lucas Perez will cost them just £4million ahead of Thursday’s transfer deadline.

The Hammers have added eight new signings so far this summer, as Lukasz Fabianski, Ryan Fredericks, Issa Diop, Fabian Balbuena, Jack Wilshere, Felipe Anderson, Andriy Yarmolenko and Xande Silva have all arrived.

However, manager Manuel Pellegrini remains keen on more new additions in the final hours of the summer transfer window, and a new striker appears to be on his wish list.

Now, The Mirror claim the West Ham are on the verge of signing Arsenal striker Lucas Perez, and the deal will cost a bargain fee of just £4million.

Perez, 29, joined Arsenal from Deportivo La Coruna in 2016, and despite scoring seven goals in 21 games – a reasonable strike rate – he was sent back to Deportivo last summer in a loan deal.

The Spaniard struggled as Depor suffered relegation, and he scored just eight goals in 35 La Liga games, though he did also add six assists before returning to Arsenal.

With El Desmarques claiming that West Ham are signing Celta Vigo forward Maxi Gomes for a whopping £45million, Perez offers a bargain option, and he is certainly worth a gamble for such a low fee.

Few experienced forwards are available for that price, and given a regular run of games, Perez could yet rekindle the form which saw him score 17 goals in the 2015-16 campaign.
