The Lyon ace has been heavily linked with a move to West Ham United this month.

According to French media outlet L’Equipe, the Hammers have missed out on the signing of Clement Grenier, after the 27-year-old chose to join Guingamp instead.
The French midfielder’s contract with Lyon is due to expire in the summer, and West Ham were reportedly keen on getting a cut-price deal over the line for him this month, according to the Sun.

Their hopes of bringing Grenier to the London Stadium, though, appear to be over, with L’Equipe reporting that the five-capped France international has opted to join Ligue 1 side Guingamp.
David Moyes has already added Joao Mario to his midfield ranks this month, but another addition will still feature highly on his agenda, especially with the current injury crisis that has torn through the club.

Grenier would have been the ideal addition for the Hammers. With his excellent passing ability, he would have been the perfect long-term replacement for Mark Noble, but it looks as though Moyes will have to seek out alternative targets.
Harry Arter, Jonjo Shelvey and Joe Allen are three names who have been repeatedly linked with West Ham, and with just over 12 hours remaining until the transfer window slams shut, these will certainly be ones for Hammers fans to keep a close eye on.
