According to The Guardian, West Ham United target Craig Dawson wants to leave Watford this month.
It has been reported that West Ham are interested in signing Dawson from Watford before the summer transfer window in England closes next week.
The report has claimed that the Hammers could move for the former West Bromwich Albion central defender if they are unable to sign Joe Rodon from Swansea City, with Tottenham Hotspur favourites for the 22-year-old Wales international centre-back.
It has been further claimed that Dawson would cost around £4 million in transfer fee, and that the 30-year-old is keen on leaving the Hornets, who are playing in the Championship this season after getting relegated from the Premier League at the end of the 2019-20 campaign.
Watford spell
Dawson joined Watford from West Brom in the summer of 2019 and played quite regularly for the Hornets last season.
According to WhoScored, the 30-year-old centre-back made 26 starts and three substitute appearances in the Premier League for the Hornets last season, scoring two goals in the process.
West Ham could do with a new centre-back, and given Dawson’s experience and the relatively low transfer fee of £4 million, he would not be a bad option to have for manager David Moyes.
