West Ham United spent £22 million on Issa Diop in the summer, and he has enjoyed a fantastic start to life at the London Stadium.

According to a report from the Daily Mail, West Ham would want three times what they paid for Issa Diop should an interested club come looking at the centre-back in the January transfer window.

The Mail reports that the Hammers spent £22 million during the summer. And he has proved to be a brilliant signing for Manuel Pellegrini, making 10 Premier League appearances for the club.

His form has prompted several Hammers fans to suggest that he could go on to prove to be one of the side’s best defenders for a number of years. And unsurprisingly, his form is already attracting attention.

The Daily Mail reported last month that Paris Saint-Germain were monitoring Diop and were prepared to pay £50 million to land the 21-year-old. But it appears that that may not be enough to get a deal done.

The Mail is now reporting that West Ham are set to demand at least £60 million for the youngster. Holding out for that figure would be a remarkable statement from the Irons.

Diop is clearly a fantastic talent and could prove to be worth a lot more in the coming years. But given that he has made just 10 league appearances for Pellegrini’s men, they would certainly be given plenty to think about if a team offered more than £60 million at the earliest opportunity.
