According to Super Deporte, West Ham and Wolves have been told by Sevilla that they must pay €70m (£58m) to sign Lucas Ocampos.
What’s the story?
Well, this will not be music to the ears of West Ham and Wolves.
Recently, Calciomercato revealed the Premier League duo were set to fight it out to sign the Argentina international, who Marcelo Bielsa once called a “unique” player.
The Italian news outlet wrote that Sevilla were going to request a big fee, and the finer details have now been revealed by Super Deporte.
Interestingly, the Spanish news outlet believe West Ham and Wolves have been told that the £58m release clause is the only way they’re going to sign Ocampos, and it could get even worse.
Sevilla want to offer the South American a one-year extension, which, if he accepts, will take the release clause up to €90m (£75m).

So far this season, Ocampos has scored nine goals in 36 appearances, while also providing four assists.
West Ham could lose out to Wolves
Unfortunately for David Moyes, Bruno Lage has an advantage over him in this transfer battle.
Super Deporte state that Wolves and Sevilla have a great relationship after the Premier League side sold Rafa Mir to the Spaniards last year.

Of course, it remains to be seen what benefits Wolves could be given as a result of those strong relations – perhaps a discount on the release clause could be in the offing.
Nevertheless, be sure to keep an eye on this intriguing saga, as anything could happen this summer.
