The West Ham United owned ace is currently on loan with Aston Villa.
Robert Snodgrass will be given another chance to prove himself at West Ham next season, according to a report from Football.London, after impressing in the Championship during a loan spell with Aston Villa so far this term.
The Scotland international joined the Hammers from Hull City in January 2017, for a fee believed to be in the region of £10.2 million, but failed to establish himself in east London.
According to Football.London, though, West Ham will not sanction his permanent switch to Villa Park in the summer, in the hope that he will come good.
Do West Ham actually need Snodgrass, though?
The winger will be 31 in September, but with footballers now playing well into their late 30’s, he still has plenty of years ahead of him.
He has really impressed for Steve Bruce’s side this season, chalking up six goals and nine assists in 26 Championship outings thus far.
Snodgrass is left-footed, but operates in a wide-right role – a position that David Moyes has spoken regularly about strengthening.
The 30-year-old has proven this season that he is still an elite performer, and there is no reason why he cannot produce the goods for the Hammers next season, if given a consistent run of games in the first team.
