David Moyes’s West Ham United have been linked with Daniel Ballard, a player Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal sold to Sunderland last summer.
According to The Belfast Telegraph, West Ham United are interested in signing Sunderland central defender Daniel Ballard , who was on the books of the Hammers’ London and Premier League rivals Arsenal only until last summer.
The 23-year-old, who can also operate as a defensive midfielder, came through the Arsenal academy system.
The youngster, though, could not make a massive impact in the Arsenal first team and had loan spells at Swindon Town, Blackpool and Millwall before he was sold to Sunderland in the summer of 2022.
The Belfast Telegraph have reported that the Hammers now want to bring the youngster back to London and “are expected to make a bid for the 23-year-old star in the coming days”.
West Ham have been keeping an eye on the Northern Ireland international for a while now, according to the report.

Could West Ham United sign Daniel Ballard from Sunderland?
In our opinion, West Ham United could be able to sign Daniel Ballard from Sunderland in the summer transfer window.
West Ham are a big and established club in the Premier League who won the UEFA Europa Conference League last season.
Yes, Sunderland are a big club as well and will be aiming to win promotion from the Championship next season, but a good offer for Ballard could be hard for them to turn down.
Moreover, the Northern Ireland international himself could find the prospect of moving to West Ham and playing in the Premier League as well as in the UEFA Europa League very appealing.
