According to talkSPORT, West Ham United are interested in signing Southampton striker Danny Ings at the end of the season.
It’s claimed that the Hammers would like to lure Ings to East London this summer as speculation surrounds his long-term future at Southampton.
Ings is out of contact in 2022, meaning Southampton risk losing him for absolutely nothing in a year’s time – and that has sparked interest.
The report claims that Ings does have a gentleman’s agreement to leave Southampton this summer, but only for Manchester City and Manchester United, rather than West Ham.
Ings has been sensational for Southampton over the last two years, smashing 25 goals last term as well as 11 goals in 29 games this season whilst being branded ‘unbelievable’ by Ralph Hasenhuttl.
Ings turns 29 this summer, and having seen his Liverpool stint marred by injuries, may feel that this is his last big chance to earn himself a huge move.

West Ham may well need a striker after selling Sebastien Haller in January, but they don’t seem like the huge step up Ings would be looking for – even if David Moyes does lead them into Europe.
Moyes has wanted Ings for years having held talks with him over a move to Real Sociedad back in 2015, and he would no doubt love to finally get his man.
It does seem a little unlikely though, and West Ham should have other targets in mind in case they can’t bring Ings to East London.
