According to TEAMtalk, West Ham United could give Marcus Edwards a return to the Premier League.

It’s claimed that Edwards’ form with Vitoria de Guimaraes in Portugal has alerted clubs back in England ahead of the January transfer window.

West Ham are one of the teams interested, but Crystal Palace, Fulham and Southampton are also keen.

Add in that Brentford, Bournemouth and Swansea City want to take him to the Championship and Sporting are looking to keep him in Portugal, and Edwards finds himself a wanted man.

Edwards isn’t thought to be rushing to move any time soon with his contract only up in 2023, but that may not stop bids from arriving.

Edwards, 22, was considered to be a hot prospect at Tottenham Hotspur, even being compared to Lionel Messi by Mauricio Pochettino in 2016, who thought Edwards could be a ‘top player’.

However, he lost his way in North London, and is rebuilding his career in Portugal having racked up 10 goals and 11 assists in 46 games for Vitoria.

A diminutive and tricky winger with a superb left foot, Edwards could be competition for Jarrod Bowen at West Ham, but there would surely only be an opening if Andriy Yarmolenko moves on first – and that hasn’t really been rumoured at this point.
