West Ham United are again being linked with Edin Dzeko.
According to the Daily Star, West Ham United are lining up a big move for Roma striker Edin Dzeko as they prepare for life after Marko Arnautovic.
The Hammers look set to lose Arnautovic to a Chinese team before the end of the transfer window, and Javier Hernandez has also been linked with a move away from the London Stadium.
West Ham subsequently need to look at strikers to target this month, with a whole host of names – such as Krzysztof Piatek and Callum Wilson – already touted for a move to East London.
Now, the Daily Star report that West Ham have a top target in mind, and it’s Roma ace Dzeko – who worked with boss Manuel Pellegrini at Manchester City.
It’s claimed that Dzeko is also wanted by Everton, but West Ham are now hoping to reunite him with Pellegrini and bring him back to the Premier League.
Dzeko, who earns £75,000-a-week at Roma according to talkSPORT, is out of contract in 18 months, and Roma may be tempted to cash in now.
The Bosnian has been prolific since joining Roma in 2015, hitting 80 goals in 159 games, whilst he also notched 32 goals in 80 games under Pellegrini at City.
Pellegrini did let Dzeko leave City though, and it remains to be seen whether they can get a deal over the line for the 32-year-old striker if he is indeed their top target to replace Arnautovic.
